We are the student NGO ALPHA. We are giving educational support for the Philippines. The members visit the Philippines twice in a year, where we build a classroom and give a original class. In this photo exhibition, we want you to look pictures of the children, the people who live there, and the ALPHA members doing construction and giving a class during the work camp. There might be some people who think that volunteer activities are somebody else’s problem or that the Philippines is a far country. We hope that this photo exhibition will be a good opportunity for that kind of people to feel sympathy for our activities, and to start thinking about what they can do for the children in the Philippines. The title of this photo exhibition is “Halohalo,” which means “a jumble.”This is the name of a famous dessert in the Philippines in which many kinds of fruits, shaved ice and other ingredients are mixed in one bowl. You can see the way that ALPHA members are interacting with children in the Philippines like “Halohalo,” and sharing the same memories. We will sell fair trade products from the Philippines such as stationery and earrings. Please come to feel the atmosphere of the Philippines!
